PBS Velká Bíteš On-the-Job Training Centre provides on-the-job training for students of the Jan Tiray Secondary Vocational School in Velká Bíteš enlisted in the three-year training programme Metal Tooler – Universal Machining, and since 2010 also training of students of the four-year study programme Machinist – Tool Setter. The training takes place in the premises of PBS Velká Bíteš, at its working machines. In the recent years the Centre has seen a promising increase in numbers of interested students. The reason behind this increase is not only the high-quality and professional teaching but also the fact that students as well as their parents consider technical education as very promising. Strict admission criteria, continuously innovated syllabi, and modern elements within the teaching practices are reflected in the success of the students in nationwide competitions. In 2009 our student won the first prize in the “České ručičky” (Czech hands) contest and was awarded as the best student in the Czech Republic. In 2012 we won the 2nd place in the same competition.
As part of the implementation of projects from the Education for Competitiveness operational programme the classrooms were equipped with new meters, CNC turning lathe and other tools required for the training. All students / legal guardians enter into a contract on continuing employment with PBS Velká Bíteš, which secures them a regular employment once they finish the training.
PBS Velká Bíteš has been operating its own training facility since 1964 to ensure qualified employees for developing production and to train students of vocational schools. On 1 September 2008 the On-the-Job Training Centre became a separate legal entity called PBS Velká Bíteš On-the-Job Training Centre.
