Dagmar Pecková Gala Concert

To commemorate its 200th anniversary, PBS Group has supported Dagmar Pecková’s new recording, Sinful Women. The gala concert and launch party for the record took place in the Rudolfino, Prague on 24 March 2015.

The non-traditional nature of this record rests primarily in the fact that all the characters from the arias that Dagmar Pecková sings have a common denominator: sin. All the arias are arias of sinful women. Each of these women has trespassed against someone and herself alike. The only remedy against human sin and wrong-doing is forgiveness, because only forgiveness is the essential remedy that can restore diseased human souls and relationships. By means of this recording, we would like to present this powerful theme to the general public.
Dagmar Pecková was born in Chrudim and studied at the conservatory in Prague. After her engagement in the Saxon State Opera in Dresden she was a member of the German State Opera in Berlin for many years. During her successful career Dagmar Pecková has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages.
In 2014, she accepted an invitation by the Czech Philharmonic on their autumn tour of the USA, and after her great success she was invited again to perform Dvořák’s Biblical Songs with the Vienna Philharmonic in Vienna, Katowice and Bratislava.
