Open day – 3 October 2015

This year’s Open Day was held on a sunny Saturday, 3 October 2015. We were really happy about the record turnout of 1,840 people who joined us to celebrate the 65th anniversary of První brněnská strojírna in Velká Bíteš. Visitors learned about the significant milestones in the history of PBS. Children could test their skills, for example at the vice in the On-the-job Training Centre. Under the supervision of the operators several visitors even managed to start the TP100 engine at the Aircraft Technique Division testing laboratory. The aircraft models with the small TJ20 turbojet engine also attracted considerable attention. The highlight of the day was the flight demonstration of the Marabu aircraft with the turboprop engine manufactured by the Aircraft Technique Division. Everyone enjoyed the melted chocolate at the Precision Casting Division. The children did very well both on the climbing wall and on the Segways. As always, the popular activities for children – the bouncing castle and face painting – were a great success.

We believe that all the visitors had a great time at the PBS Open Day.
